Integrative counsellor in BC
Every person’s life journey is unique, and so is their path to healing. In today’s fast-paced world, society often struggles to hold space for grief, loss, and change. Whether you are facing the death of a loved one, navigating a difficult life transition, experiencing a shift in religious beliefs, or living with chronic pain or disability, healing is not a one-size-fits-all process. That’s why I take an integrative counseling approach - one that adapts to your individual needs and experiences. My goal in our sessions is to meet you exactly where you are, sitting with you in the discomfort, pain, anger, or any emotions that arise while offering a supportive and personalized path toward healing.

I believe that therapy should be as unique as the person engaging in it. I strive to communicate in a way that resonates with you, whether through conversation, art, music, or other forms of expression. Integrative counseling allows us to draw from multiple therapeutic approaches, ensuring that our work together aligns with your way of processing emotions and experiences.

With your consent, I will gently guide you through a process of deeper self-understanding, helping you build the tools to show up for yourself with the same compassion you would offer a close friend. When appropriate, I use direct and honest language to support meaningful reflection and growth. No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to help you navigate it with care, flexibility, and an approach tailored to you.

Healing with integrative counseling
My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based modalities to provide comprehensive and individualized care. I practice:
somatic therapy
person-centered approaches
narrative therapy
Internal Family Systems (IFS)/parts work
I create a structured yet compassionate space for clients to explore their emotions, experiences, and internal dynamics. When clients encounter challenges or experience difficulty progressing, I incorporate creative and expressive techniques to facilitate deeper insight and emotional processing. My goal is to support clients in achieving greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.
The Somatic approach is particularly effective because it acknowledges the deep connection between the mind and body, allowing clients to process emotions not only intellectually but also on a physiological and experiential level. This approach helps release stored tension and trauma, while person-centered therapy fosters a sense of trust and self-acceptance. IFS/parts work provides a structured framework for understanding internal conflicts and integrating different aspects of the self. Narrative therapy further enhances this process by helping clients reframe their personal stories, identify empowering themes, and reshape limiting beliefs. By incorporating creative modalities when needed, I help clients access and express emotions that may be difficult to articulate through words alone, ultimately promoting deeper healing and transformation.

What is a therapeutic integrative approach in practice?
In practice, an integrative therapeutic approach means tailoring each session to the client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals. For example, a session might begin with guided mindfulness or body awareness exercises to help a patient regulate their nervous system and become more present.

Person-centered dialogue allows the patient to explore their emotions in a safe and supportive space, while Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques help identify and work with different aspects of the self that may be in conflict. If a patient feels stuck or struggles to verbalize their emotions, I may introduce creative modalities such as drawing, movement, or writing to facilitate expression and insight.
Throughout the process, I remain attuned to the client’s responses, adapting interventions as needed to ensure a personalized and effective therapeutic experience. This dynamic and flexible approach allows for deeper emotional processing, self-discovery, and long-term healing.

My life experience is here to help you.
